I have been wondering how I was going to utilize this squiggly lines paper so when I was browsing my pattern paper stash during my WOF card series marathon, I grabbed it.  I had a feeling this particular polkadot paper may work so I found it and was delighted that it went together; combing different companies' stuff is fun for me.

I had received a sweet gift of Close to My Heart patterned paper and stamps a few months back but was hoarding them as they were too pretty to use.  Enter my new resolution to use the things I hoard because I love so much.  The pack contains several polkadot papers in many colors.

The flowers got some bling and slightly distressed edges to finish them off.

Next, I added some torn aqua cardstock and ran with it.  I don't use lavender paper often but was excited that it went with the squiggle paper so I used it as my base.

The sentiment is from a Stampabilities set and was stamped in dark gray.

That's it for today.  Thanks for stopping in.

Tiny tags on cards make me smile as they are just so cute.  This one I hand cut so it was easy peasy to make.

The rose is a triple layer stamp.  I could get lost in the detail of these three shades of pink.

Thanks for dropping by!

All items are PTI unless noted.

Mr. Darcy

The sentiment on this card was computer generated, die cut, and stamped.  The medallions are a patterned paper and the lace was stamped in Melon Berry.  I used a craft knife to cut along the lace edge to make it look realistic.
I wanted an airy feeling ribbon so I opted for seam binding, which I had to double up on since it was too sheer.  The camera captured the distinction between the two papers that appears underneath but you couldn't really tell in person.  I think the pearls finished the medallions off nicely.
On the inside the sentiment is computer generated again.  I think I am in love with this frame.
I cut a medallion out for a cute addition to the back.  This is what they looked like before I placed the pearls on them.

These patterned papers are from a super fun 6x6 stack called Fly a Kite by My Mind's Eye.  The colors exude happiness to me.  And then there is the orange chevron pattern; I'm in love and I think my husband knows. ;)  I finally got around to buying Papertrey Ink buttons with my last order and I must say that I cannot believe it took me so long because I truly have been missing out on beautiful button gloriousness.  This red one looks like a delicious hard candy.
This dotted, scalloped paper accent on the inside worked well with this card.  I am glad I kept the scrap, but better yet I am glad I found the scrap so I could use it. Organization saves the day!

I have not used my Spellbinders dies in a while so I pulled them out to use on this card.  I was very pleased that these Papertrey Ink stamps fit so perfectly within the second largest oval.  After I stamped them in Dark Chocolate ink I used clear embossing powder on top.  To fill the empty space at the top of the oval I pulled out my box of rhinestones and liked how the medium blue popped on the orange best.
The slight overlap of the grosgrain ribbon over the card edges works nicely on this card.  One thing I have realized lately is I have a thing for polka dots.  Multicolored polka dots have to be my favorite, but all polka dots make me happy. :)

Today I have something out of the ordinary.  A friend of ours had a baby and she likes moneys so I whipped out this cute monkey with the baby's name for the flowers we took to her at the hospital.  I love two tone roses. I don't know the actual name of these, but they are like fire and ice roses except they are yellow and orange.
The rickrack ribbon layered on top of the grosgrain ribbon is really cute here. The vine that the letters are attached to had leaves spaced out just as I needed.  Don't you just love it when things pull together themselves.

Paper: My Mind's Eye - Twinkle Twinkle Little Boy - yellow with tone on tone stars, light blue with stars, Recollections - tan, black, and green, Best Occasions Textured Cardstock - brown

When I ordered this cupcake paper I knew I was going to use it for my friend who eats gluten free and has been making gluten free cupcakes.  She has a fun and bright personality so these colors were perfect.  The polka dot and cupcake papers are from My Mind's Eye.  They are my favorite patterned paper company!  I thoroughly enjoy their collections.
This cupcake is gluten free.  :o)  I chose large flake glitter to go on the frosting since it is large cupcake.  The frosting reminds me of delicious buttercream.  Mmm.  The buttons on top are a fun play on a cherry. The aqua thread helps tie in the color scheme.
The cupcake in the corner is a dimensional sticker from a pack that I've had for few months.  I knew I would find something for them eventually.  I do believe they are perfect here.

A cute dinosaur ready to party.  Perfect card for a little guy on his birthday.  The Create a Critter Cricut cartridge really has adorable animals.  Every time I pull it out I am reminded of all the cutesy card possibilities it holds.
I added Glossy Accents to all the orange paper and also to the mouth.  At the rate I'm going with that stuff I'll be needing to buy a new bottle soon.

Jammin'

When Papertrey Ink came out with the stamp set Boys Basics: Rock On with coordinating die I was chomping at the bit until its release. Waiting on it to arrive was a type of paper crafting torture as I always get the free shipping. Why do I do that to myself? Because it's free and I like free.
This was my first card using this set. Yes, that is black and brown together. I like it just because it has a faux pas attached to it. I rocked it if I may say so myself. *grin*

I challenged myself to use this flower I had made as a focal point for a card. This fun summertime card was the result. I like how the pink patterned paper mimics the focal flower.
These tissue paper flowers are great to have on hand. They mail nicely without the bulk that other flowers have. Definitely worth the effort to make them!
