Wedding season is upon us.

Here is a simple wedding card I made by die cutting letters from silver cardstock.  The heart rhinestone ribbon buckle had been sitting in my stash for awhile so I was excited to put it to use.  You can't really tell in the picture, but the card base is navy.  I am really liking mint and navy right now.

I have decided I like to keep wedding cards simple.  Do you like them simple or more elaborate?

Thanks for looking!

I was busy earlier this month making the keepsake shadow boxes my church gives to families who have their children dedicated.  I personalize each one, which takes some time, but it is totally worth it.

I took last names and the church name out to post them.

Each letter in the name is cut three times in white cardstock and glued together. Next, the patterned paper I chose is cut and glued to the now thick letter and popped up with foam tape.

The name and date tags are die cut on the girls' ones using Papertrey's Christmas Label die and on the boys' using Spellbinders Ribbon Labels.  At the bottom the white verse card is cut from Spellbinders Large Labels, the logo hand colored with a coordinating Copic, and the lamb is pieced together from Cricut's Create a Critter. Before piecing I run the white parts through a swirl embossing folder to get the texture.  After the lamb is complete, I use Glossy Accents on all exposed black parts for shine and dimension.

This green and white ribbon is some May Arts ribbon I have been hoarding.  I finally used it here as I thought it went nicely with the paper on 'Claire.'  Use your nice stuff for the people you love--I have been living by this while making the shadow boxes and my cards lately and am liking the results.  I highly suggest it.
For the boys' shadow boxes this round, I used metal tape in copper to 'hang' the letters.  I just got it last month and am loving it! Such a cool, masculine textural element.

Yes, some of the dates are different.   Parents are asking for boxes for their children that were dedicated before we implemented these boxes.  I happily oblige.

I forgot to post the valentines I made for my son's class.  Right before he walked out the door I remembered that I didn't take pictures of them so I apologize for the awful lighting.
These were fun to make.  I challenged myself to color and shade all twenty-one rockets in a day so I could practice coloring with my Copics and become faster.  It worked!  The first one I did took fourteen minutes to color, but I quickly shaved my time and I began turning them out in a little over five minutes!

Since the rocket die also has a star and a moon on it, I went ahead and used some yellow ink on the white moons as to not have to run the die through my cutter another twenty-one times.

To pop the rockets up off the note card, I used foam tape on the back, attached satin ribbon at the bottom, and called it a day…err night.
I had a great time making these and hope to play with my markers more this year.  Do you like coloring, too?

Belated with Style

I love cards with acetate openings!  So fun.  Here is a stylish, bold pink stripe for the challenge.  The sentiment is mimicking the chalkboard trend and the flower adds a touch of elegance.  Um, can I send this to myself? ;)

Hope you enjoyed seeing all my creations for the stipe challenge!  It sure was fun making them!

Trendy Arrow Birthday

Yep, another card!  Papertrey is offering $70 gift cards to seven random people.  :)

For this card I pulled out this on trend arrow birthday sentiment.  I am digging this loopy, handwritten-look font.  This is my favorite tag die that I own. The added texture of the dot outline makes me all fuzzy inside.

All items PTI unless noted.

Cheery Birthday

Another striped card for the Papertrey stripe challenge!  I'm cranking them out today.  It is so cathartic to be back in my craft area and being creative--it has been too long!

This bright striped card makes me smile as it is a jovial looking one.  I am liking these iridescent aqua sequins.  I die cut this paper twice and placed the opposite dies in the negative cut space to make the 'birthday' multi striped too.

Good Luck, Girlie!

Yes, yet another card for the stripe challenge!  I am on creative fire.

For this card I used three types of stripes: chevron stripes, thin horizontal stripes, the dainty dashed saddle stitched stripe of the ribbon, and a solid heart shaped stripe.  I wanted to see how many I could get on one card. :)

I made the skirt from ribbon that I attached with tape.  The top part of the dress is washi.  The tiny pearls just might be my favorite part.

Dinner Party

Let's step out of the norm for a dinner party card.  This card can be used as a thank you for dinner, an invite to come to dinner or a card to go along with a dinner for a new momma.

I found this fun recipe card printed paper at a scrapbook shop in a tiny town where my friends and I retreat twice a year.  It is bigger than A2 card size to accommodate the design on the paper.

This dutch oven stamp is adorable.  I enjoy using mine and actually used it to make dinner last night!  Mmm.  It can make so delicious things as everything tastes better cooked in that pot.

Torn Ombre

This card has big, bold stripes in blue ombre.  I tore the cardstock (Papertrey paper tears so nicely) and fluffed up the rough edges for some dimension.  The 'hello' is cut from shimmer paper.

DSW Inspired

What girl doesn't love shoes?!  I took my inspiration from DSW's black and tan striped bags.  I'm thinking I will need to get a DSW gift card to put in this one…and one of their bags with shoes for me! ;)
